Click or Dryback: which version should you choose?
Click PVC is suitable when you want to install the floor as a floating floor. The integrated IXPE underlay makes installation easier and provides extra sound insulation.
Dryback PVC is glued directly to a level subfloor. This version is particularly stable and has lower thermal resistance, making it an excellent choice for use with underfloor heating.
Which version is best depends on the subfloor, how the room will be used, and how you want to install the floor.
How much Porto Paris PVC do you need?
Enter the net number of square meters of your room in the calculator on this page.
The calculator automatically calculates how many full packs you need and includes a standard 10% cutting waste.
Are you installing the herringbone floor yourself and have little or no experience? Allow for at least 10% cutting waste. In rooms with many corners or a complex installation plan, extra material may be advisable.
Porto Paris is sold exclusively by the full pack.
What else might you need?
For Dryback PVC, depending on the existing subfloor, you may need:
- primer
- self-leveling compound
- PVC adhesive
- skirting boards
- transition profiles
With Click PVC, a separate underlay is normally not needed because the IXPE underlay is already integrated.
You will find suitable flooring accessories below this page.
Porto Paris and underfloor heating
Both versions are suitable for underfloor heating.
The Dryback version has a thermal resistance of 0.04 m² K/W. The Click version has a thermal resistance of 0.06 m² K/W.
This allows Porto Paris to combine the luxurious look of herringbone with everyday comfort.
Maintaining Porto Paris PVC
PVC is easy to keep clean. Regular vacuuming and light damp mopping are usually sufficient.
First remove sand and grit while dry to prevent fine scratches, and preferably use a cleaning product suitable for PVC that does not leave a greasy or sticky residue.
Luxurious herringbone for different interior styles
Porto Paris suits both modern and classic interiors. Combine the floor with light walls for a calm, spacious look, or use dark skirting boards, brass details, and warm materials for a stronger luxurious effect.
