This base price excludes any additional subfloor repairs, primer for special substrates, skirting boards, profiles, door adjustments, removal of an existing floor, and the necessary cutting waste.

The final price depends on the chosen product, the surface area, the laying pattern, the condition of the existing floor, and the desired finish.

Example calculation: dryback PVC for 60 m²

For a home with 60 m² of net floor area, a simple example calculation looks like this:

When ordering the floor, cutting waste is also taken into account. The required amount depends on the shape of the rooms, the size of the planks, and the chosen laying pattern. Herringbone or other patterns generally require more material and labor than straight planks.

Why do we level for dryback PVC?

A dryback PVC floor is glued directly to the substrate. As a result, the material follows every joint, damage, and irregularity under the floor. Without proper preparation, these can later become visible on the surface, especially when daylight falls on the floor.

Many homes on the Costa Blanca have an existing tile floor. This can often serve well as a base but must be checked and professionally prepared before installation.

With our dryback installations, we level the substrate to:

to work out tile joints and small irregularities;
to create a flat substrate;
to apply the glue evenly;
to prevent telegraphing in the new floor;
to achieve a sleek and durable final result.

Therefore, we do not install dryback PVC directly on an unleveled tile floor.

Can dryback PVC be installed over existing tiles?

Yes, in many cases dryback PVC can be installed over an existing Spanish tile floor. The tiles must be stable and well fixed. Loose tiles, cracks, moisture problems, or large height differences must first be inspected and repaired.

After proper preparation, a leveling layer is applied. This creates a flat base on which the PVC strips can be professionally glued.

This way, a new floor can be installed without having to remove the entire tile floor.

Dryback PVC or click PVC?

Dryback PVC requires more preparation because the subfloor must be flat and leveled. On the other hand, the floor is fully glued, resulting in an exceptionally tight and stable finish.

Click PVC is installed floating and can be installed faster in suitable situations. Which floor is the best choice depends on the subfloor, sun exposure, surface area, desired finish, and the use of the home.
