Dryback PVC or click PVC?
When choosing a PVC floor, we distinguish between dryback PVC and click PVC. The floors can look almost identical, but the installation and technical properties differ significantly.
Dryback PVC
Dryback PVC, also known as glued PVC, is glued directly onto a leveled substrate. This provides a sleek and stable result with a low build-up height.
We recommend dryback PVC regularly for homes with large open spaces, lots of direct sunlight, or large sliding doors. For herringbone and Hungarian point patterns, a glued floor generally provides the calmest and most sleek final result.
Click PVC
Click PVC is installed floating with a click system. Many modern click floors have a sturdy SPC core, and some versions feature an integrated underlay.
When the existing subfloor is stable and sufficiently flat, click PVC can sometimes be installed without full leveling. This can speed up the installation and limit the preparatory work.
However, click PVC is not automatically suitable for every home. Direct sunlight, temperature differences, the size of the room, and the flatness of the existing floor remain important considerations.

What does a PVC floor cost in Spain?
The price of a PVC floor is determined by the chosen product, the flooring system, the existing subfloor, the laying pattern, and the desired finish.

Can PVC be installed over an existing tiled floor?
In many homes on the Costa Blanca, there is already a tiled floor. This does not automatically have to be removed. If the tiles are stable and well fixed, the existing floor can often be used as a base for a new PVC floor.
Before we give advice, we check among other things:
- whether the tiles are stable and well adhered;
- whether there are cracks or loose tiles;
- how deep and wide the joints are;
- whether there are height differences in the floor;
- whether there is enough space at doors and sliding doors;
- whether there are moisture problems or other technical issues.
With dryback PVC, we level the subfloor before the floor is glued. With click PVC, full leveling is not always necessary, but the tiled floor must meet the flatness requirements of the chosen flooring system.

Why is leveling so important?
A tiled floor may appear flat at first glance, while there are still joints, damages, and small height differences present. With glued PVC, these irregularities can later become visible on the surface.
With a suitable primer and leveling layer, we create a flat and stable base. This helps to glue the floor evenly and prevents joints and unevenness from showing through the new floor.
The required preparation varies per home. Sometimes a standard leveling layer is sufficient; in other situations, loose tiles, cracks, or larger height differences must first be repaired.

Straight plank, herringbone, or Hungarian point?
Straight PVC planks
A straight plank provides a calm and spacious result. Wide and long planks suit open living spaces well, while smaller sizes can be practical in apartments and rooms with many corners.
Herringbone PVC
Herringbone adds more rhythm and a luxurious look to an interior. Because the pattern must be laid out precisely and requires more cutting, material use and installation costs are generally higher than with straight planks.

Hungarian point and Viennese point
In Hungarian or Viennese point patterns, the strips are placed at an angle against each other. This creates an elegant and calm variation of the classic herringbone pattern. A flat subfloor and precise installation are especially important here.
Tile and concrete-look PVC
In addition to wood designs, we supply PVC in various tile and concrete looks. These floors suit modern homes well and give the appearance of a poured or tiled floor, but with the comfort and ease of maintenance of PVC.

Frequently asked questions about PVC floors in Spain
What is cheaper: dryback or click PVC?
Click PVC often has lower preparation costs if the existing floor is sufficiently flat. Dryback PVC is usually cheaper as loose material but requires leveling and gluing. The total price must therefore be calculated per home.
Does a tile floor need to be removed first?
No, that is often not necessary. When the existing tiles are stable, the new floor can usually be installed over the tile floor. The substrate must be inspected and properly prepared.
Is PVC suitable for a lot of sunlight?
That depends on the chosen product, floor construction, and the situation in the home. For large glass surfaces and a lot of direct sunlight, we often recommend a stable, glued floor. The technical specifications of the chosen product always remain decisive.
Can you supply only the floor?
Yes, we can supply the floor only. For the best result, we can also handle measuring, substrate preparation, installation, and finishing.
Can I see the floors in person first?
