Viennese point PVC floor in El Campello
In this home in El Campello, we installed a glued PVC floor in a Viennese laid in a point pattern. This pattern resembles herringbone, but has a clearly different appearance. The angled ends meet one another and together form clean V-lines through the space.
Before we could begin installation, the existing the subfloor had to be addressed. After levelling, the floor was glued and fully finished with skirting boards and sealant.
First, level the subfloor
The existing floor appeared reasonably flat at first glance. For a patterned floor is reasonably good, but not good enough. Small differences in height can cause the strips not to align properly or imperfections become visible later.
We therefore first inspected and prepared the subfloor levelled. This created a flat surface on which we could accurately lay out the pattern could set out.

Setting out and gluing the Viennese point
With a regular straight plank, you can still make some adjustments during installation. A Viennese point requires more preparation. The first lines determine how the entire pattern runs through the space. If they are not positioned correctly, you will see it further along straight back
Once the pattern had been set out, the PVC floor was installed strip by strip into the adhesive installed. We made sure that the points aligned neatly with one another and the lines run straight through the home.

Finished with skirting boards and sealant
After installation, we finished the floor with skirting boards. The joints were sealed at the top and bottom, so no dark gaps or untidy edges are visible remain.
That last part may seem like a detail, but it determines whether the floor will share what the floor eventually looks like. A beautiful patterned floor with half finished edges ultimately remains only half finished.
The final result
The Viennese point gives the home more character than a straight plank, without the pattern becomes too busy. The diagonal lines draw the eye through the space and make the floor appear wider and more spacious.
Thanks to its calm wood colour, the floor works well with the home's light interior home. The result is distinctive enough to be special, yet calm versatile enough to combine with different interior styles.
Chevron or herringbone?
In a herringbone pattern, the rectangular planks meet at right angles. In a in a chevron pattern, the ends are cut at an angle and the planks together form distinct points. This makes a chevron pattern look somewhat sharper and more geometric.

What should you really look out for with a chevron PVC floor in El Campello?
A good choice does not begin with the colour alone. We also assess the construction, wear layer, dimensional stability, pattern repetition, and suitability for click or dryback installation. These factors determine whether a floor remains stable after installation, feels comfortable to walk on, and suits the home's everyday use. Especially in an apartment, holiday home, or villa on the Costa Blanca, sun exposure, temperature differences, and an existing tiled floor can influence the technical choice.
Therefore, do not ask only about a price per square metre. Check what is included in the offer: subfloor preparation, levelling, underlay, adhesive, skirting boards, cutting waste, transport, and installation. Two quotes for the same surface area may technically include completely different things.
The subfloor determines the end result
A new floor always depends on the quality of its foundation. Loose tiles, deep joints, differences in height, residual moisture, and cracks must be assessed beforehand. A level floor is not automatically a suitable floor; stability and adhesion are at least as important. During renovations, we also look at doors, sliding doors, kitchen plinths, and connections to other rooms.
By measuring accurately in advance, we prevent surprises during installation. We record what preparation is needed and which system is technically appropriate. Sometimes direct installation is possible; in other cases, levelling or local repairs are necessary. You cannot see this honest difference on a small colour sample, but you will see it in the final result.
