In Rojales, we have installed a high-quality PVC herringbone floor in this home. The existing tile floor was not a good base to work on directly, so careful preparation was essential here.

As is often the case with tile floors in Spain, there were uneven spots in the subfloor. To achieve a smooth final result, we first fully prepared and leveled the floor.

The situation

The existing tile floor was not stable or flat enough to lay a PVC herringbone floor directly on top. With a pattern like herringbone, deviations quickly become visible, so quality always starts with the base here.

That’s why we first ensured a smooth, even subfloor before installing the floor.

Subfloor preparation

Before the new floor could be installed, we fully inspected and prepared the existing tile floor.

The floor was then leveled to create a stable and even base for the new PVC floor. This is especially important with herringbone PVC, as small height differences or unevenness can quickly become visible in the pattern later on.

The chosen PVC herringbone floor

For this home, a calm PVC herringbone floor was chosen that perfectly matches the modern interior of the house.

Herringbone PVC remains one of the most popular floors on the Costa Blanca due to its combination of a luxurious look and practical ease of use.

What we did

For this project in Rojales, we:

- inspected and prepared the existing subfloor
- leveled the tile floor
- installed a PVC herringbone floor
- installed 12 cm high baseboards
- sealed various walls with color-matched sealant

The final result

The final result is a calm and luxurious PVC herringbone floor that flows beautifully throughout the home.

The combination of good preparation, precise installation, and neat finishing with high baseboards creates a polished whole.

The finishing really makes the difference here. By sealing some walls in the color of the wall, the floor and baseboards fit even more neatly into the space.
