Custom Roman blinds and sheer curtains in Benidorm

For this home in Benidorm, we fitted several windows with Roman blinds and sheer curtains. The light fabrics complement the interior beautifully without detracting from the view or the amount of daylight in the home.

The Roman blinds can be set to the desired height for each window. The sheer curtains filter the light around the larger glazed areas and give the room more privacy and atmosphere.

Roman blinds for the individual windows

Roman blinds were chosen for the smaller windows. When opened, the fabric folds upwards into horizontal sections, leaving most of the window clear. By operating each Roman blind separately, the amount of light entering through each window can be controlled.

The light fabric keeps the room open and airy. When closed, it softens the direct sunlight while still allowing daylight to enter.

Custom-made for every window

The Roman blinds were measured and made for each individual window. This involved looking not only at the width and height, but also at the position of the controls and the space occupied by the blind at the top when opened.

Sheer curtains for the large glazed area

Sheer curtains were installed around the larger glazed area. Sheer curtains are denser than voile curtains, but let in more light than heavy curtains. This keeps the room bright during the day, while making the glass feel less bare and providing more privacy.

The curtains' long vertical lines complement the height of the windows. Together with the Roman blinds, they create a calm, cohesive look without requiring every window to have exactly the same window covering.

Why combine Roman blinds and sheer curtains?

Not every window in a home requires the same solution. A Roman blind is practical when you want to control the amount of light entering through each window. Sheer curtains work especially well with wide windows and sliding doors, where a continuous fabric softens the room.

By using both types of window covering in similar light tones, they still complement each other beautifully.

The end result

Each window now has a solution suited to its size and use. The Roman blinds can be opened compactly, while the sheer curtains soften the large glazed area. The home remains bright, but feels much more finished.
