Why choose PVC flooring and underfloor heating on the Costa Blanca?

PVC and LVT combine a hard-wearing top layer with extensive design freedom. Straight planks, herringbone, chevron, tile and concrete looks each create a different spatial effect. A good collection has a convincing texture, controlled pattern repetition and clear technical specifications.

For new-build properties and renovations with hydronic or electric underfloor heating, it is especially important to balance appearance and practical properties. That is why we compare samples in suitable lighting and discuss in advance what expectations are realistic regarding wear, cleaning, heat and sound.

Quality from Dutch collections

Our floors are brought to Spain through Dutch suppliers. This provides access to a broad and up-to-date range, clear product information and qualities that are not always available in the standard local selection. We select not only on the basis of brand name or sales pitch, but on suitability for your project.

In the showroom in La Nucía, you can view materials side by side. This is important because surface texture, sheen, pile and colour respond differently in bright daylight than on a screen. Bring photos and approximate measurements so that we can make a focused selection.

Subfloor and technical preparation

Dryback PVC is glued down and requires a level, stable and correctly prepared base. Click PVC is installed as a floating floor and has a different construction and sound transmission. The choice is determined by the subfloor, area, underfloor heating, doors and use—not by the assumption that click flooring is always faster or dryback is always better.

We also check whether existing tiles are firmly fixed, whether joints need to be levelled and whether there are signs of moisture or cracking. Doors, kitchen plinths, sliding doors and transitions can determine the maximum possible build-up height.

Suitable for living on the Costa Blanca

Large glass panels, direct sunlight and homes that sometimes remain closed for weeks require attention. Ventilation, air conditioning and solar shading affect the indoor climate; flooring must be stored and installed according to the technical specifications. In apartments, we also consider impact sound and comunidad regulations.

For a holiday home, easy maintenance may be a major consideration, while softness and quietness may be more important in a bedroom. In a permanently occupied villa, continuous sightlines and connection with the kitchen and stairs often take centre stage. The same product is therefore not automatically the best choice for every room.

Colour, direction and finish

For patterned floors, we establish the starting line and sightline before installation. With straight planks, we consider the direction of light, the longest sightline and the connection between rooms. The right skirting board and a neat finish around sliding doors make the difference between simply having a new floor and having a completed interior.

We recommend viewing material samples together with the wall colour, kitchen fronts and curtains. Cool grey can appear harsher in Spanish sunlight, while warm oak tones may look more yellow. A calm mid-tone is often more forgiving of sand and everyday use than an extremely light or dark shade.

Maintenance and lifespan

Removing dust and sand daily helps limit fine scratches. Clean with a lightly damp cloth and prevent standing water from remaining along the edges for extended periods. Use suitable protection under chairs and heavy furniture, without plasticisers that may react with PVC.

At handover, ask which cleaner and protection products are suitable for the chosen floor. Maintenance advice should be specific: how often to clean, how much product to use and what to do in the event of stains or damage. This prevents well-intentioned but harmful cleaning experiments.

What determines the price?

The price consists of more than just the material. Area, cutting waste, pattern, preparation, adhesive or underlay, skirting boards, profiles, transport and accessibility all count. An empty, rectangular room is planned differently from an occupied apartment with many doors and fixed furniture.

After measuring, we can provide a clear price breakdown. This shows you which work is included and which situations may be charged as additional work. This is more reliable than a standalone starting price that says nothing about the condition of your home.
