The choice is determined by the subfloor, surface area, underfloor heating, doors and use—not by the assumption that click is always faster or dryback is always better.

We also check whether existing tiles are firmly fixed, whether joints need to be levelled and whether there are signs of moisture or cracking. Doors, kitchen plinths, sliding doors and transitions can determine the maximum possible build-up height.

Removing dust and sand daily helps limit fine scratches. Clean with a lightly damp cloth using a suitable product and prevent water from standing along the edges for extended periods. Use suitable protection under chairs and heavy furniture, without plasticisers that can react with PVC.

When the floor is handed over, ask which cleaner and protection products are suitable for the chosen floor. Maintenance advice should be specific: how often to clean, how much product to use and what to do in the event of stains or damage. This helps prevent well-intentioned but damaging cleaning experiments.

The price consists of more than just the material. Surface area, cutting waste, pattern, preparation, adhesive or underlay, skirting boards, profiles, transport and accessibility all count. A straight, empty room is planned differently from an occupied apartment with many doors and fixed furniture.
