Why complete guidance?

In a home in Spain, flooring, window coverings, furniture, lighting and outdoor areas often involve different parties. Without central planning, incorrect measurements, duplicate trips and products that literally get in each other’s way can result. A single point of contact monitors consistency and sequence.

We start with function: who uses the home, permanently or temporarily, are there children, pets or holiday guests, and how much maintenance is desired? Only then do colour and style follow. An interior should not only look good in the first photograph, but also stand up to real everyday life.

Assessment and interior plan

We collect floor plans, photographs, measurements, handover information and existing elements. In the property, we check floors, windows, doors, sockets, light points and walkways. For new-build properties, we look at which decisions can be prepared before the keys are handed over.

The plan divides choices into logically connected components. Anything that needs to be done first for technical or delivery-time reasons takes priority. This means you do not have to discover on the day the flooring is installed that a cabinet cannot fit through the door or that a curtain track conflicts with the air conditioning.

Flooring as the foundation

The floor determines colour, acoustics, maintenance and the appearance of every room. We assess the existing subfloor, levelness, moisture, build-up height and connections to doors. We then compare options including PVC, vinyl, laminate and carpet based on use and technical suitability.

Window coverings and sunlight

Interior and exterior sun protection can complement each other. A curtain finishes the room, while an external screen helps keep heat out before it reaches the glass. We prevent separate systems from needing the same mounting space, power route or movement zone.

Furniture, rugs and layout

A good layout starts with walkways and proportions. Sofas, dining tables and beds must fit without making the room feel cramped. We consider seat height, comfort, sightlines, door swings and the connection with the terrace or balcony.

Rugs bring zones together and improve acoustics. Their size is matched to the furniture arrangement rather than chosen as a standalone decorative island. Colours and materials are preferably viewed alongside the flooring, fabrics and wall finishes in the actual light.

A second home or holiday home

A home that stands empty for part of the year requires robust, low-maintenance choices and clear controls. For rental properties, replaceability, cleaning and broad appeal also matter. This does not mean everything has to be bland or cheap; it means every euro has a function.

If you are not in Spain continuously, we record decisions, measurements and planning clearly. Access and key management are agreed in advance. Photographs and updates help, but we prefer to assess important material and colour choices using samples or a clearly agreed reference.

Planning, delivery and installation

The installation sequence prevents damage and remedial work. Floor preparation comes first, painting and tracks must be completed at the right time, and deliveries require sufficient clear storage space. We plan realistically around delivery times; custom work does not happen faster because you call angrily every day.

At handover, we check installation, operation and visible finishing. Outstanding points are recorded. This keeps it clear what is complete, what is still to come and who is responsible.

What determines the budget?

The budget is determined by floor area, number of rooms, material quality, amount of custom work, furniture, accessibility and installation. We distinguish between essential basics, comfort improvements and luxury choices. This makes it possible to adjust specific elements without pulling the entire design apart.

A complete quotation is more valuable than a low standalone product price. Check whether measuring, transport, installation, subfloor work, disposal and adjustment are included. Allowing for unexpected structural issues prevents the final room from being compromised because the entire contingency has already been spent on decoration.

Common mistakes

The biggest mistake is ordering individual products too early. A sofa can be beautiful and still block the walkway; curtains can be perfect and still be impossible to hang because the track position was never checked. The Spanish sun is also often underestimated when it comes to colour, heat and fading.

A second mistake is basing the schedule on the most favourable delivery time. Projects require decisions, production, transport and installation. We prefer to work with a feasible schedule and clear dependencies rather than a fantasy date that everyone has to explain later.
