Subfloor and technical preparation

The base must be dry, clean, and level. Depending on the quality, carpet is either fully adhered, stretched, or combined with underlay. Seams, pile direction, doors, and skirting boards are planned in advance. On stairs, tread layout, nosing, and secure fixing are especially important.

We also check whether existing tiles are firmly fixed, whether joints need to be levelled, and whether there are signs of moisture or cracking. Doors, kitchen plinths, sliding doors, and transitions may determine the maximum possible build-up height.

Suitable for living on the Costa Blanca

Large glass surfaces, direct sunlight, and homes that sometimes remain closed for weeks require careful consideration. Ventilation, air conditioning, and solar shading affect the indoor climate; flooring materials must be stored and installed according to the technical specifications. For a holiday home, easy maintenance may be a major priority, while softness and quietness may be more important in a bedroom. Colour, direction, and finish

We recommend viewing material samples together with wall colours, kitchen fronts, and curtains. Cool grey can appear harsher in Spanish sunlight, while warm oak tones may look more yellow. A calm mid-tone is often more forgiving of sand and daily use than an extremely light or dark shade.

Maintenance and lifespan

Regular, gentle vacuuming prevents sand from wearing deep into the pile. Blot stains rather than rubbing them. Use only a product suitable for the fibre and backing, and test it first in an inconspicuous area. A good entrance mat visibly extends the lifespan.

At handover, ask which cleaner and protection are suitable for the chosen flooring. Maintenance advice should be specific: how often to clean, how much product to use, and what to do in the event of stains or damage. This prevents well-intentioned but harmful cleaning experiments.

The price consists of more than just the material. Area, cutting waste, pattern, preparation, adhesive or underlay, skirting boards, profiles, transport, and accessibility all count. A straight, empty room is planned differently from an occupied apartment with many doors and fixed furniture.
