For a property in Spain, flooring, window coverings, furniture, lighting and outdoor spaces often involve different parties. Without central planning, incorrect measurements, duplicate trips and products that literally get in each other’s way can result. One point of contact ensures consistency and keeps everything in the right order.

We start with function: who will use the property, permanently or temporarily, are there children, pets or rental guests, and how much maintenance is desired? Only then do we consider color and style. An interior should not only look good in the first photo, but also work in everyday life.

Assessment and interior plan

We collect floor plans, photos, measurements, handover information and existing elements. At the property, we check floors, windows, doors, power outlets, light points and circulation routes. For new-build homes, we look at which decisions can be prepared before key handover.

The plan divides choices into logically connected components. Anything that needs to be addressed first for technical or delivery-time reasons takes priority. This way, you do not have to discover on the day the floor is installed that a cabinet will not fit through the door or that a curtain rail clashes with the air conditioning.

Flooring as the foundation

The floor determines color, acoustics, maintenance and the look of every room. We assess the existing subfloor, levelness, moisture, build-up height and connections to doors. We then compare options including PVC, vinyl, laminate and carpet based on use and technical suitability.

Window coverings and sun protection

Window coverings provide privacy, control light, create atmosphere and contribute to thermal comfort. Large sliding doors require different solutions from bedrooms or narrow tilt-and-turn windows. Fabric, pleat, rail, operating side and mounting surface are selected and measured together.

Interior and exterior sun protection can complement each other. A curtain completes the room, while an exterior screen helps keep heat from reaching the glass. We prevent separate systems from requiring the same fixing space, cable route or operating area.

Furniture, rugs and layout

A good layout starts with circulation routes and proportions. Sofas, dining tables and beds must fit without making the room feel crowded. We consider seat height, comfort, sightlines, door swings and the connection with the terrace or balcony.

Rugs bring zones together and improve acoustics. Their size is coordinated with the furniture arrangement rather than chosen as a separate decorative island. Colors and materials are preferably viewed alongside the flooring, fabrics and wall finishes in the actual light.

A second home or holiday home

A property that stands empty for part of the year calls for durable, low-maintenance choices and clear controls. For rental properties, replaceability, cleaning and broad appeal also matter. This does not mean everything has to be dull or inexpensive; it does mean that every euro should serve a purpose.

If you are not in Spain all the time, we record decisions, measurements and the schedule clearly. Access and key management are agreed in advance. Photos and updates are helpful, but we prefer to assess important material and color choices using samples or a clearly agreed reference.

Planning, delivery and installation

The installation sequence prevents damage and remedial work. Floor preparation comes before furniture, painting and rails must be completed at the right time, and deliveries require sufficient clear storage space. We plan realistically around delivery times; custom-made products do not arrive faster because you call angrily every day.

At handover, we check the installation, operation and visible finish. Outstanding points are recorded. This keeps it clear what is complete, what remains to be done and who is responsible.

What determines the budget?

The budget is influenced by floor area, number of rooms, material quality, amount of custom work, furniture, accessibility and installation. We distinguish between essential basics, comfort improvements and luxury choices. This makes it possible to adjust specific elements without having to dismantle the entire design.

A complete quotation is more valuable than a low standalone product price. Check whether measuring, transport, installation, subfloor work, removal and adjustment are included. Setting aside a contingency for unexpected structural issues prevents the final room from being left unfinished because the entire margin was spent on decoration.

Common mistakes

The biggest mistake is ordering individual products too early. A sofa can be beautiful and still block the circulation route; curtains can be perfect and still not be hangable because the rail position was never checked. The Spanish sun is also often underestimated when it comes to color, heat and fading.

A second mistake is basing the schedule on the most favorable delivery time. Projects require decisions, production, transport and installation. We prefer to work with a realistic schedule and clear dependencies rather than a fantasy date that everyone has to explain later.
