In a home in Spain, flooring, window coverings, furniture, lighting and outdoor spaces often involve different companies. Without central planning, incorrect measurements, duplicate trips and products that literally get in each other’s way can result. One point of contact ensures cohesion and the right order of work.

We start with function: who will use the home, permanently or temporarily, are there children, pets or rental guests, and how much maintenance is desired? Only then do we move on to colour and style. An interior should not only look good in the first photo, but also suit real everyday life.

Assessment and interior plan

We collect floor plans, photos, measurements, handover information and existing elements. At the property, we check floors, windows, doors, sockets, light points and walkways. For new-build homes, we look at which decisions can be prepared before the keys are handed over.

The plan divides choices into logically connected components. Anything that needs to come first technically or because of lead times takes priority. This means you do not have to discover on the day the floor is installed that a cabinet cannot fit through the door or that a curtain track clashes with the air conditioning.

Flooring as the foundation

The floor determines colour, acoustics, maintenance and the appearance of every room. We assess the existing subfloor, levelness, moisture, build-up height and connections to doors. We then compare PVC, vinyl, laminate and carpet, among other options, based on use and technical suitability.

Window coverings and sunlight

Interior and exterior solar shading can complement each other. A curtain completes the room, while an external screen helps keep heat from reaching the glass. We prevent separate systems from requiring the same fixing space, cable route or movement zone.

Furniture, rugs and layout

A good layout starts with walkways and proportions. Sofas, dining tables and beds should fit without making the room feel cramped. We consider seating height, comfort, sightlines, door swings and the connection with the terrace or balcony.

Rugs bring zones together and improve acoustics. Their size is matched to the furniture arrangement rather than chosen as a separate decorative island. Colours and materials are preferably viewed alongside the flooring, fabrics and wall finishes in the actual light.

A second home or holiday home

A home that stands empty for part of the year requires robust, low-maintenance choices and clear controls. For rental properties, replaceability, cleaning and broad appeal also matter. That does not mean everything has to be boring or inexpensive; it means that every euro should serve a purpose.

If you are not in Spain all the time, we record decisions, measurements and the schedule clearly. Access and key management are agreed in advance. Photos and updates help, but important material and colour choices are best assessed using samples or a clearly agreed reference.

Planning, delivery and installation

The installation sequence prevents damage and remedial work. Floor preparation comes before furniture, while painting and tracks must be completed at the right time, and deliveries require sufficient clear storage space. We plan realistically around lead times; bespoke work does not become faster because you call angrily every day.

Upon completion, we check installation, operation and visible finishing. Any outstanding points are recorded. This keeps it clear what is complete, what remains and who is responsible.

What determines the budget?

The budget is determined by floor area, number of rooms, material level, amount of bespoke work, furniture, accessibility and installation. We distinguish between essential basics, comfort improvements and luxury choices. This makes it possible to adjust specific elements without having to dismantle the entire design.

A complete quotation is more valuable than a low individual product price. Check whether measuring, transport, installation, subfloor work, removal and adjustment are included. Setting aside a contingency for unexpected building-related issues prevents the final room from being abandoned because the entire margin has already been spent on decoration.

Common mistakes

The biggest mistake is ordering individual products too early. A sofa can be beautiful yet block the walkway; curtains can be perfect yet impossible to hang because the track position was never checked. The Spanish sun is also often underestimated when it comes to colour, heat and fading.

A second mistake is basing the schedule on the most optimistic lead time. Projects require decisions, production, transport and installation. We prefer to work with a feasible schedule and clear dependencies rather than a fairy-tale date that everyone has to explain later.
