For this home in Mascarat, we installed blackout Duette® shades on a plastic door. The customer's request was clear: maximum blackout, increased privacy, and a neat finish without having to drill into the frame.

That’s why we chose a tape-frame system. This attaches the frame directly to the frame without screws or damage to the door.

The challenge

Drilling is not always desirable with plastic doors and tilt-and-turn windows. Yet, the window treatment must be securely attached and stay neatly in place when the door is opened and closed.

Additionally, the customer wanted to darken the room as much as possible without adding heavy curtains or other window treatments.

Tape-frame installation without drilling

The applied tape-frame system is attached directly to the frame without screwing or drilling.

This keeps the plastic frame completely intact and results in a neat, clean finish.

Even when the door is opened, the system stays perfectly in place.
