Existing parquet floor completely refurbished on the Costa Blanca

For this project, we were asked to completely refurbish and refinish an existing parquet floor. The floor was already in the home but had significantly discolored and been damaged over the years due to intensive use and sunlight.

In the kitchen, clear oil stains were visible, and around the large windows, the wood had yellowed due to prolonged exposure to the sun. Other parts of the floor had turned gray, resulting in a lot of color variation in the floor.

In addition, some planks were no longer fully fixed. We first replaced and repaired these before we could continue treating the floor.

After repairing the loose parts, we carefully sanded the entire parquet floor to remove the old finish, discolorations, and stains. The oil stains in the kitchen required extra attention, but by sanding the floor completely evenly, we achieved a beautiful and calm base again.

Especially with existing wooden floors, the difference is often in the details. A good renovation is not just about sanding but mainly about restoring calm and unity in the floor.

To preserve the natural look of the wood, we then treated the floor with a transparent white hardwax oil. This gave the wood a calm, even appearance again without making the floor too yellow or too dark.

The hardwax oil not only protects the wood against daily use but also ensures that the natural appearance and texture of the parquet remain beautifully visible.

The result is a floor that looks warm, calm, and well-maintained again, while the character of real wood is fully preserved.

Through a combination of repair work, careful sanding, and the right finishing, this existing parquet floor has received a completely new look.

The large color differences have disappeared, the floor feels calm again as a whole, and the wood has regained the warm appearance that perfectly suits homes on the Costa Blanca.
