UZIN PE 260 Dispersion Multiprimer 10 kg

UZIN PE 260 is a highly concentrated, film-forming dispersion primer for preparing both absorbent and dense substrates. The primer is mainly used before the floor is levelled.

UZIN PE 260 is used undiluted on smooth, dense or moderately absorbent substrates. On absorbent substrates, the concentrate can be diluted with water, depending on the application, up to a maximum of 1:3.

This makes PE 260 widely suitable for both renovation and new construction, forming a reliable bonding layer between the existing substrate and the smoothing compound.

The exact dilution and preparation depend on the type, absorbency and condition of the substrate.

Application on dense substrates

On smooth, dense and non-absorbent substrates, UZIN PE 260 is generally applied undiluted.

After drying, the primer forms a film to which the subsequent smoothing layer can bond.

Application on absorbent substrates

On absorbent substrates, UZIN PE 260 can be diluted with water to a maximum of one part primer to three parts water.

  • Absorbent smoothing compounds

The correct mixing ratio depends on the absorbency of the substrate. A highly absorbent floor may require a different dilution or an additional treatment.

No moisture barrier

UZIN PE 260 is a bonding and suction-regulating primer. The product is not a moisture barrier against rising damp or an excessively high residual moisture content.

Before application, always check that the substrate is sufficiently dry. In case of moisture problems, a suitable UZIN moisture barrier must be applied.

Substrate preparation

The substrate must be load-bearing, dimensionally stable, permanently dry and clean, and free of cracks and substances that could reduce adhesion.

Remove:

  • Dust and loose particles
  • Oil, grease and wax
  • Non-water-resistant adhesive residues
  • Loose smoothing compound residues
  • Weak or insufficiently bonded layers
  • Paint and coating residues that are not sufficiently bonded

Sand or roughen smooth and dense substrates if necessary. Then vacuum the floor thoroughly.

Always check old adhesive and smoothing compound residues for adhesion and water resistance before applying the primer.

Mixing and application

  1. Allow the packaging to acclimatize before use.
  2. Shake or stir UZIN PE 260 thoroughly.
  3. Use the product undiluted on dense and less absorbent substrates.
  4. Dilute the product on absorbent substrates according to the UZIN product data sheet, up to a maximum of 1:3 with clean water.
  5. Apply the primer evenly and thinly with a suitable nylon roller.
  6. Use a brush for edges and hard-to-reach areas.
  7. Avoid thick layers and puddle formation.
  8. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying the smoothing compound.
  9. Clean tools with water immediately after use.

The values apply at approximately 20 °C and 65% relative humidity. Low temperatures, high humidity and thick layers extend the drying time.

The high coverage of 250 m² can only be achieved with a suitable diluted application. The substrate ultimately determines how much product is required.
