UZIN NC 167 is a hydraulically setting, self-leveling flowing screed for layer thicknesses of 3 to 40 mm. The product can be applied as a bonded flowing screed or used as an unbonded screed on a suitable separation layer.
Thanks to its excellent flow properties, UZIN NC 167 can be easily distributed over large areas and pumped mechanically. Once dry, it forms a level, low-stress, highly absorbent surface for textile and resilient floor coverings, ceramic tiles, and natural stone.
The flowing screed can also be used to embed suitable thin hot-water and electric underfloor heating systems.

The stated times apply at approximately 20 °C and a relative humidity of 65%. Temperature, humidity, substrate, and layer thickness may affect the drying time.

The product is not automatically suitable for filling milled floor heating pipes. A specific UZIN system recommendation must be followed for this purpose.

Suitable substrates
UZIN NC 167 can be applied as a bonded system, in combination with the correct preparation and primer, to:

- Suitable cement-based renovation substrates
For gypsum-based, calcium sulphate-based and anhydrite screeds, UZIN recommends a suitable calcium sulphate-based solution, such as UZIN NC 567 or UZIN NC 587, depending on the required floor structure and drying time.
Minimum layer thicknesses
- Bonded application: minimum 3 mm
- On a separating layer: minimum 25 mm
- Maximum layer thickness: 40 mm
For unbonded floor constructions, the complete floor structure must be assessed technically in advance.
Substrate preparation
The substrate must be load-bearing, stable, dry and free of cracks, dust, dirt, oil and grease.
For bonded applications, remove all poorly bonded and adhesion-reducing layers by brushing, sanding, milling or dust-free shot blasting. Remove loose material and vacuum the surface thoroughly.
Then apply a suitable UZIN primer and allow it to dry completely. For layer thicknesses exceeding 10 mm, an epoxy primer such as UZIN PE 460, fully broadcast with suitable UZIN quartz sand, may be required.
When applying over a separating layer, the load-bearing substrate must be clean and free of loose material. Install suitable edge insulation strips along all rising building elements. Lay the separating film flat, without creases, and with sufficient overlap.
Mixing and application
Pour 3.6 to 4 litres of clean, cold water into a clean mixing tub. Then gradually add the entire contents of the 20 kg bag while mixing.
Mix the material mechanically with a suitable basket mixer until a fluid, homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained.
Pour the material onto the substrate and spread it evenly using a smoothing trowel, squeegee or floor scraper. If necessary, use a spiked or deaeration roller to remove trapped air and improve the surface.
UZIN NC 167 is suitable for machine pumping. Preferably apply the desired layer thickness in a single operation.
Consumption
Average consumption is approximately 1.7 kg per m² per millimetre of layer thickness.

As a general indication, thicker layers may require a drying time of several days for each additional 10 mm. Always check that the flow screed is sufficiently dry before bonding.
