Types of outdoor sun protection: what do you choose?

Warm summer days are wonderful, but can also make staying indoors less pleasant. Outdoor sun protection offers the solution! Prevent your home from heating up or create a nice shady spot on your terrace with the right sun protection. What types of sun protection are there and what are the differences?

Types of outdoor sun protection: all in a row

01. Sunshades

Awnings – also called folding arm awnings – are the most popular sun protection for your terrace. An awning consists of a steel frame with a water-repellent cloth. The cloth protects you from the harmful rays of the sun and keeps your home and terrace cool.

02. Screens

Screens are vertical sun protection on the outside of the house. They are mainly intended to keep the sun out of the house, so that the temperature of your house remains cool on sunny days. Do you want to sit in the shade on your terrace? Then you are better off opting for a sunshade. Screens are similar to roller shutters, because the sun protection cloth slides down vertically. The advantage of screens is that you can still look outside through the cloth.

03. Roller shutters

Roller shutters are more than just sun protection. In addition to keeping out the sun, they are also a real added value for your home in the winter. With roller shutters you can darken a room well, which is a solution when you work night shifts. In addition, they are insulating, soundproof and burglar-proof.

The electric roller shutters from inhuis are equipped with a whisper-quiet motor as standard, the quietest roller shutter motor on the market at the moment. Easily operate your roller shutter with a remote control, switch or app via your smartphone or tablet.

04. Awnings

Awnings give your home its own look. They keep the sun out on all sides of your window, giving you shade in your home and keeping your home cool on sunny days. The awnings can be ordered in three different models: the standard model, the cap model and the folding model.

05. Drop-down awnings

Drop-down awnings are sunshades with two fixed arms instead of folding arms. They are therefore particularly sturdy and can withstand both wind and storm. When putting together a drop-down awning, you determine the width and the projection yourself. Drop-down awnings provide shade, but do not obstruct the view outside. An ideal combination! Drop-down awnings are often used for windows on, for example, a first or second floor or a balcony.

Is your sun protection outdated? Order a new cloth!

Due to various weather conditions, the sun protection cloth of your sun protection can discolour or tear. However, you do not have to order new sun protection for this. Order a new sun protection cloth and your sun protection will be as good as new!
