UZIN NC 181 Fast-Setting Filling and Leveling Compound – 20 kg

UZIN NC 181 is a very fast-setting, cement-based filling and leveling compound for repair and renovation work. The product is suitable for both feather-edge leveling layers and filling deeper uneven areas.

The consistency can be adjusted by varying the amount of mixing water. More water produces a smooth, creamy compound for smoothly leveling surfaces. Less water makes the material more stable and suitable for sloping substrates, creating slopes, and repairing stairs.

UZIN NC 181 is walkable after approximately 25 minutes and ready for flooring installation after approximately 60 minutes. This makes the product particularly suitable for fast renovations where subsequent flooring work must not be delayed for long.

Key properties

  • Fast-setting filling and leveling compound
  • Not a self-leveling compound
  • Adjustable consistency
  • Smooth and easy to apply with a smoothing trowel
  • Suitable for very thin and thick layers
  • Very fine surface texture
  • Hydraulically setting
  • Working time of approximately 15 minutes
  • Walkable after approximately 25 minutes
  • Ready for flooring installation after approximately 60 minutes
  • Suitable for creating slopes
  • Suitable for repairing stairs
  • Suitable for underfloor heating
  • Very low emissions
  • For indoor use

The stated times apply at approximately 20 °C and a relative humidity of 65%. Temperature, humidity, and layer thickness may affect curing.

Suitable substrates and applications

UZIN NC 181 can be used, in combination with the appropriate preparation and primer, on substrates including:

  • Cement screeds
  • Concrete
  • Cast asphalt
  • Wood-granite
  • Wooden substrates
  • Old water-resistant adhesive residues
  • Substrates with hydronic underfloor heating

The product is suitable for:

  • Filling holes and localized damage
  • Leveling uneven substrates
  • Thin leveling over old water-resistant adhesive residues
  • Applying thicker layers
  • Leveling sloping substrates
  • Creating slopes in floors
  • Leveling and repairing stairs
  • Fast repairs before flooring work

Substrate preparation

The substrate must be load-bearing, stable, permanently dry, clean, and free of cracks. Dust, dirt, grease, loose particles, and other substances that may reduce adhesion must be completely removed.

Weak or poorly bonded layers must be sanded, milled, or removed using another suitable method. Then vacuum the substrate thoroughly and, if necessary, treat it with a suitable primer.

Always consult the current product data sheet and application instructions from UZIN before processing.

Mixing and application

Depending on the desired consistency, use 5 to 5.75 litres of clean, cold water per 20 kg bag.

First pour the water into a clean mixing tub. Then gradually add the powder and mechanically mix the material with a suitable basket mixer until a homogeneous, lump-free compound is formed.

Do not mix more material than can be applied within approximately 15 minutes. Apply the compound directly to the substrate and spread it with a smoothing trowel. If possible, apply the required layer thickness in a single operation.

Use less water when a firm, stable mortar is required for stairs, slopes, or creating falls.

Thicker layers

For layer thicknesses of more than 10 mm, UZIN NC 181 can be filled with a maximum of 50% coarse quartz sand with a grain size of 0.3 to 0.8 mm.

This corresponds to approximately 8 to 10 kg of quartz sand per 20 kg bag. For thick layers and special applications, always check the current technical product data sheet.

Consumption

Average consumption is approximately 1.5 kg per m² per millimetre of layer thickness.

Layer thickness Consumption Area per 20 kg bag
1 mm approximately 1.5 kg/m² approximately 13.3 m²
3 mm approximately 4.5 kg/m² approximately 4.4 m²
6 mm approximately 9 kg/m² approximately 2.2 m²
9 mm approximately 13.5 kg/m² approximately 1.5 m²

Actual consumption depends on the structure of the substrate, the layer thickness applied, and the consistency selected.

Why choose UZIN NC 181?

UZIN NC 181 is suitable for flooring projects where repairs and levelling work need to be carried out quickly. Its adjustable consistency makes the product suitable for both thin levelling applications and stable repairs and thicker layers.

Thanks to its short drying time, subsequent floor finishing can generally continue after approximately one hour. This makes UZIN NC 181 particularly practical for fast renovations, stairs, local repairs, and floors that need to be laid to falls.
