UZIN NC 172 BiTurbo is an extremely fast-drying, self-levelling cement-based compound for projects where the floor needs to be finished within a very short time. The product forms a flat, smooth, and highly absorbent surface for bonding virtually all floor coverings.
Thanks to the Level Plus Effect, the levelling compound flows out exceptionally well, creating a very even surface. This generally reduces the need for subsequent finishing and can reduce adhesive consumption by up to 10% during subsequent floor finishing.
The levelling compound is ready for foot traffic after approximately 60 minutes. Most textile and resilient floor coverings can already be installed from that point onward. UZIN NC 172 BiTurbo can be pumped and is suitable exclusively for indoor use.
Key properties
- Extremely fast-drying cement-based levelling compound
- Self-levelling with Level Plus Effect
- Suitable for layer thicknesses of up to 10 mm
- Ready for foot traffic after approximately 60 minutes
- Most floor coverings ready for installation after approximately 60 minutes
- Parquet, cork, and special floor coverings ready for installation after approximately 12 hours
- Very smooth and absorbent surface
- Up to 10% lower adhesive consumption
- Hydraulically setting
- Very high compressive and flexural tensile strength
- Suitable for heavy loads
- Suitable for manual application and pumping
- Low in chromate
- For indoor use
The specified times apply at approximately 20 °C, a relative humidity of 65%, and a floor temperature of approximately 18 °C. Deviating conditions and greater layer thicknesses may affect the drying time.
Suitable for floor coverings
UZIN NC 172 BiTurbo is suitable as a substrate for, among others:
- Carpet and other textile floor coverings
- PVC and CV floor coverings
- PVC design flooring and LVT
- Linoleum
- Rubber in rolls and tiles
- Ceramic tiles
- Natural stone
After a drying time of approximately 12 hours, the levelling compound is also suitable as a substrate for:
- Parquet
- Cork
- PO floor coverings
- PUR floor coverings
Use a suitable adhesive for each floor covering and follow UZIN's current application instructions.
Suitable substrates
Without primer, UZIN NC 172 BiTurbo can be applied under certain conditions to:
- Old substrates with well-adhering, water-resistant adhesive residues
With a suitable primer, the product can be applied to:
- Cement screeds
- Concrete
- Calcium sulfate and anhydrite screeds, only after technical advice
- Existing terrazzo floors
- Ceramic tile floors
- Natural stone floors
- Substrates with underfloor heating
For layer thicknesses exceeding 3 mm, a suitable primer must always be applied.
Load-bearing capacity
UZIN NC 172 BiTurbo is suitable for heavily trafficked areas in commercial and industrial environments.
- Compressive strength class up to C50
- Suitable for loads from swivel castors from a layer thickness of 1 mm
- Suitable for heavy traffic and transport equipment in combination with a suitable floor covering
- For forklift traffic, maintain a minimum layer thickness of 3 mm
Substrate preparation
The substrate must be load-bearing, dimensionally stable, permanently dry, clean and free of cracks. Dust, dirt, grease, loose particles and other substances that may reduce adhesion must be completely removed.
Weak or poorly adhering layers must be removed by brushing, sanding, milling or dust-free shot blasting. Then vacuum the substrate thoroughly.
Depending on the type and condition of the substrate, choose a suitable UZIN primer. Apply the levelling compound only once the primer has dried completely.
Mixing and application
Pour approximately 5 litres of clean, cold water into a clean mixing tub. Then gradually add the entire contents of the 20 kg bag while mixing.
Mechanically mix the material with a suitable paddle mixer until a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained. The maximum processing time is approximately 15 minutes. Therefore, do not mix more material than can be processed within this time.
Pour the levelling compound directly onto the substrate and spread it evenly with a smoothing trowel or levelling rake. For thicker layers, use a spiked roller to remove air bubbles and achieve an even surface.
Preferably apply the desired layer thickness in a single operation. Small irregularities can be removed with a filling knife after drying. The levelling layer is generally easy to sand after approximately 2.5 to 4 hours.
Consumption
Average consumption is approximately 1.5 kg per m² per millimetre of layer thickness.
| Layer thickness | Consumption | Area per 20 kg bag |
|---|---|---|
| 1 mm | approximately 1.5 kg/m² | approximately 13.3 m² |
| 3 mm | approximately 4.5 kg/m² | approximately 4.4 m² |
| 10 mm | approximately 15 kg/m² | approximately 1.3 m² |
Actual consumption depends on the evenness, structure, and absorbency of the substrate.
