What is a band and border?
What is a floor with a band and border? It is a specific finish of the floor! With herringbone floors it is possible to choose a band and border finish. It is also possible to choose only a band finish. This means that the pattern of the herringbone floor stops approximately 12 cm from the wall (distance to the wall depends on the width of the floorboards). A ‘band’ is then placed between the pattern and the wall; a floorboard in the same color as the floor. This band is placed against the wall with the long side of the plank, just as if this floor is laid straight. This is placed around the herringbone floor and is also called the band of the floor. You can choose this with and without a border. The piping is often a black (but other colours are also possible) thin strip that is placed between the floor pattern and the band. The piping closes the pattern of the floor, as it were.
